Got my new 440 dropped in to replace the original 318 that came with my '67 Satellite. Here is a picture:

Everything went pretty smoothly putting it in. The only problem was my made in India trans mount. I had to oval out the bolt holes even more than they are already to be able to get it to work.

The next order of business is I'm having a new gas tank, 3/8" pickup, and stainless 3/8" fuel line put in by a local shop. I was going to do it myself but the old tank started leaking gas in my attached garage right next to the water heater and I ran out of time. So I had AAA tow it away to a local shop that's going to do it for a reasonable price.

I love the old M/T's! Keep up the good work!

looks good

is that a crate motor or one you built up ?

whats the specs ?

Thanks everyone. I scored the valve covers at the Spring Fling a couple years ago.

The motor is a 1971 440 we yanked out of a Newport sitting in a junkyard about ten years ago. It was half-price day, so I got the shortblock for $25.

It's pretty stock, basic and budget but it has still cost a lot of coin somehow!

It's bored .040 over, TRW 2355 (6 Pack) pistons at zero deck, stock LY rods with ARP bolts, balanced. Stock steel crank turned 10/10. ARP Main bolts. Mopar Performance windage tray, 440Source 7 quart oil pan, high volume oil pump.

Heads are unported 452s with a good valve job and good valve springs, 440Source roller rockers, Crane pushrods. Performer RPM intake I got on Ebay, Holley 850 mechanical secondary with the choke horn milled off, Hooker 1 and 7/8" headers from Ebay.

Cam is an Engle hydraulic, .534 lift, 288 advertised duration, 238 @ .050 duration.

Converter is a Dynamic 9.5", 4200 stall. Trans is pretty stock with good clutches and steels and a Transgo shift kit, deep pan. I still need a third member, looking to probably use 3.91 gears with a 28" tall tire.

Front end has been all gone through with new everything. I converted to the larger 11/16" C-Body tie rods while was at it and also manual steering with a Flaming River coupler. New gas tank and converted to 3/8" stainless fuel line at the same time. Carter mechanical fuel pump, lightweight starter, original 26", three core radiator was redone with high efficiency stuff and the tanks modified to line up like a big-block, the list goes on and on and I'm still not done!

Looks Great..!!

I like the old M/T valve covers also but not a fan at all of the mopar perf ones...remind me of the old Cal Custom valve covers..
