I've recently had my 23 spline 833 rebuild by Passon. I live about 75 miles from the shop, so it made more sense to take it directly there versus sending it out to another shop like Brewer's. I tried the local route here near Philly, and I really got nowhere. I actually dropped it off on Easter Sunday on my way to the Pocono's. Jamie had it rebuilt within a month, but in reality it took 2 weeks because I was thinking about what to do.

I do not have the trans back in the car yet, but I will say so far I'm very happy with how Jamie handled the situation overall. He very communicative and honest about the situation, always either answered the phone or called me back pretty quickly, and listened and gave me options. The shop is pretty cool and looked fairly organized, as opposed to many other shops I've been to in the past. All the guys working there were nice too, and all talking Mopar this and that. He even had all the other parts I needed to make this rebuild complete (trans mount, clutch & PP, fork, boot, various bolts). The trans looks great.

Jamie did share with me that Passon Performance is not his full time job, but it's quickly becoming just that. He said he has 2 years until he has 20 years of seniority with his day job, and cannot give that up. I'm sure a lot of you understand that circumstance, and that info might answer your questions about his service in the past.

I did not see a 5 speed there. No word on the 5 speed delivery, but I did state that people are chomping at the bit for it, and he knows it. He had piles of 4 speeds waiting to be worked on and/or cores.

I don't know Jamie personally, never met him before or bought anything from him previously either, so I don't have any bias. I just wanted to share my experience so far and give the guy a fair shake. I'd buy from him again if I ever needed to, but it better not be a trans rebuild or clutch for a LONG FREAKING TIME!

X2 on what you wrote. Jamie did my 4 speed conversion on my 70 RR last year and I am very happy. Ditto on his crew and shop, although I did see a couple of his new 5 speeds on the bench waiting to be shipped. I'm kicking myself that I didn't take pics of them. They looked sweet.

I rebuild 4 speeds for my self and others. Jamie's always been a great asset whether for info or the hard-to-locate hard parts. You made a wise choice going with him.

I have to agree with you 100% on Jamie as he did my tranny for my 69 Runner about 5 years ago and all top notch work and a super guy also.
