Grill Restoration

I'm using the original grill and trying to restore it the best I can. The chrome plating around the headlights is flaking off. Any suggestions on how to make it look nice? Should I remove it all and paint? Thanks!

Here is a thread on it... Don't know how well these products will do as far as wear on exterior parts...

spray on chrome for dash and small parts.

Sand it down and paint. Im repairing my grill for my charger and will paint it. Going to spray clear on it when done. I did my Bee grills with no clear and they still look good.
