I was just perusing "Class Racer" and found out about this. RIP,Grumpy,and thanks for the Mopar memories! I was fortunate enough to have met him and spoke with him at Indy back in 1985. Good guy,and along with Smokey,one hell of an innovator. Still pissed about the 72 Vega and NHRA's shitty treatment of the Chrysler Pro Stock racers,though. Not pissed at Bill;he just built what No Hemi Racers Allowed told him he could build. I don't see any "In Memory Of Wally Parks" stickers on Mopars currently;after what he pulled(along with his Tech Directors) way back when. I sure as hell wouldn't place one on my Mopar class racer,were I to have one.
Just read on the NHRA release that he pioneered the "slick-shift" transmission. I always thought that Mr. Hoover and the Ramchargers developed that. More Chevy bias from North Hollywood...

R-I-P Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, my condolences go out to his friends & family for the loss of a great man & inovator in drag racing... I will always remeber the 66 Chevy II with the #666 on it at Pomona, Riverside, Ontario, Lyons, Long Beach & many other SoCal & the nations Race tracks back in the day, it was "the little small block that could", against all them Big Block guys...

RIP Mr Jenkins indeed.
Obviously, I didn't know the man personally, but I imagine there must have been some solid foundation behind the nickname. However, the 2 times I had the opportunity to meet him and talk for just a few seconds [72 at the PRA nationals and again at a national in 80]he wasnt grumpy. Sure, he was at the races, so he was serious and 'takin care o' binness' , but he was still cordial enough to this kid. And who could ever forget his Hot Rod magazine 'centerfold'?!? OBVIOUSLY, had had quite a sense of humour. He will be missed.

Glad someone thinks so. They hated me at the Charger forum and evenually banned me for this same stuff. The death nell for me came last summer when I posted a side shot of a luscious and beauliful ta-ta, which I guess is a no-no.
However, as of late, they are allowing a YouTube video of some farm boy stripping and hopping into a hay bailer.

Video of naked man = we love it.
Go figure.

Yep I remember... Remember there are children that look at these sites/forums... After you were gone, you were pretty well bashed by a few of the easily insulted, progressive, hypocritical types over there, bashing on some one who can longer respond to their critisims... I think you need to ease into it & not come on so strong, let people get use to your type of humor, they will enjoy it for the most part, there are some questionable stuff, but I personally can look past that stuff, I am a grown man after all, you don't have to look at it if you don't want to, try posting more regular threads specific to the forum & not political & about your present & former cars Roadrunner's, Superbird's, Charger's, Daytona's etc... P.S. I do love me some Beautiful Ta Ta's also, just not really on the forums, they do state no nudity...

Yeah, I found it hilarious that after I was banned, people couldn't stop talking about me to the tune of 6 or 7 pages...until they locked the thread! But, being called everything from a liar, racist, child molester to inciting riots. was quite a stretch for several of the humor-impaired dim bulbs.
