Well, I got my GTX with out anything but the 8 3/4 rear. My motor, trans, and drive shaft are all donors from my old Satellite. Motor and trans went in without a hitch. But my drive shaft is a different story.

I don't know the history of the Satellite. But it had an 8 1/4 rear (with a 440...). The shaft worked plenty well in that car. But now I believe it's too LONG.

I seem to remember a chart in Mopar Action showing the difference in length from pinion yoke to axle center-line between Mopar rear ends, but I can't find it.

Guess I just need to figure out how much to have cut off. Any body have a shaft out of an Auto Trans/ 8.75 car that they could measure for me? Or dealt with a similar issue?

(measured from center of aft U-joint)

If its too short, there isn't any making it longer. You need to find a longer drive shaft. What engine and trans do you have?

Price depends on location, but, put the slip joint in, so it has room to slide, then measure cup to cup, trans back to rear. That's the length it needs to be, so, take that and your shaft to the local driveline shop, talk to them....
