GTX Sport Satellite finish panel question

Hello All !! I am curious as to the mounting nuts for the 1968 GTX and or Sport Satellite trunk finish panel (the die cast one to be certain). Is there something that I can use in place ot the stock speed nuts ? Thanks !

you could use some of the 3m double sided adhesive tape (that black rubbery stuff) but i would still recommend using at least 2 of the speed nuts

Thanks. True, I could use double sided "tape". I was hoping someone could tell me if they know of other fasteners (speed nuts, etc) that they had used and where they could be found.

water gets in behind these things, and falls down to the bottom lip of the trunk lid, rotting it out from within. I know, I have two deck lids = trash because of this. The GTX, and the Satellite with the trim, so both have holes, and both are toast, and, AMD doesn't make these!

If you mean those stamped tin nuts?I get mine at the local Automotive Supply

oh, your looking for replacement speed nuts. ya your local parts store should have them i know mine only sells them as multi size assortment pac. i believe they are like $4 a pack but there is only like 2 or 3 of each size so you will need a few packs. if you can get one the size you need it may be cheaper to check your automotive supply store to see if they sell them individually. i know both auto zone and advance auto parts both carry the assortments.

some auto body supply houses have them, Place I dealt with years ago had full assortments along with windshield clips, door panel clips etc
