I don't know where the brown wire with black connector , (top left starter relay) went? it goes down toward teh trans in this pic. Any Ideas what it's for?

Also the black wire attached to the fire wall (left lower side of voltage reg) guessing ground to engine maybe?

wire at top left of relay goes to neutral safety switch. The other wire is a ground. That should attach to the engine

Right and I suggest you upgrade that ground. One good place is the master cylinder studs, on your car in the far top right of the photo is a stud/ nut that if cleaned up should work well.

Realize (Ok, look at the front of the passenger side head) that those bolt holes are now on the REAR of the driver side head, and make a perfect place for a ground bolt.

Just measure from that stud, or a "better" place if you can find one, to the head bolt hole, and go down and get a no4 "starter" cable (ring to ring.) This is much better than the factory grounds.

Also remove and clean/ scrape the mounting for the regulator. It MUST see a good ground clear back to the battery.

Ok, Thanks

Thanks.....Are you referring to the Voltage regulator needing a clean ground to the fire wall?

Yes. There are four main reasons that some of these cars run overvoltage

1 Sometimes a bad battery can cause that

2 Bad ground between the regulator and battery

3 Voltage drop in the ignition harness makes the regulator "think" the battery is low

4 and of course a regulator that is worn/ out of adjustment/ going bad

Just til I get my shift cable installed, Can I ground the NSS to the body to test ignition wiring?
