Could someone tell me the easy way and right tools needed to pull the balancer off a 318 engine? Its been a very long time since ive done mechanical work, I have to, I think, change the timing chain and gears/sprockets.. Im not even sure of the size of the nut on the end.. Anyone feel up to giving me a quick lesson? I do body work, im not much of a mechanic.. Ron..

Use a 1.25" socket to remove the nut (RH thread) and the tool as found above.

thanks all, just borrowed one, and my mind may be getting old as i do already have the tool. thanks again, Ron....

Forgot about renting one....been a long time since doing that and I too sometimes forget about having tools that don't get used all that often but my puller was used quite a bit when I was building engines all the time. It also works for pulling stubborn rear end yokes.

They make em but all I use is the 'longer' bolt with a couple of greased up thick washers. Been doing it that way for many moons...
