Head light Brackets 1971 - 1974

I have a quick simple question regarding the head light mounting brackets. I'm just curious if the 1971/1972 Chargers were a shorter unit then the the 1973/1974 Chargers with the extended bumpers.

I don't want to cut them or alter my original ones. I'm planning on bringing in the bumper much closer then i can now, so its flush to the fender like the 1971 Chargers.

I've heard that the ones on the hide-a-way cars were shorter to allow the headlight doors to open.. I don't know about 71-72 vs 73-74.
