I just got stuck on a set of headers for a 62/65 Dodge B body Coronet. Fought most of the day on the drivers side thinking/hoping that would be the worst of the two..WRONG...went to put in the pass side and theres about 2 inches of clearance missing between the fenderwell and block. No way will it go on......anyboby got any clue/comments.......I'm gettin' tired of working on this thing. Just needs the motor and trans installed...should'nt take a few hours...the man said:angry9:

Did you unhook the motor mounts and lift the engine? What headers do you have? What engine is it? I normally raise the engine, and shove it to one side to allow them to go in, then move it to the other to fit them in. Seem sot me the pass side drops in from the top and the left side goes up form underneath.....

Headers a new but I sourced them on craigslist. Guy had the box but it wouldn't fit in my car so I left it. Not sure of the brand. Its a 65 Coronet with a 426 wedge. I have raised the engine, that will get them in place but you can't get the engine back down without them hitting the fenderwell big time.....

I think these were from Summit

Boy that #2 bend sure had a wide radius to it. You could cut some out of it. Weld it back onto the flange. Otherwise I don't see them fitting.

Headers...

Motor is in where it supposed to be, are the headers from 66 up different??????

Actually, those headers look like a set of 440 truck headers, where the absence of 'shock towers' would allow then to fit without issue.

As noted above, I'd mark the pipes and make a few choice cuts to make them usable...

I see you're in NC. Where are you located ? I'm in Raleigh.

I agree, they must be truck headers. I used 66-72 B headers on my old 64 Polara with an RB and had no issues at all. The 66-72 work in older B's but the K member is further back in the newer cars which gives more steering clearance.

WEll, I ordered another set from Summit, their numbers show 62/65 is one number and 66/72 is another number......I'll keep ya posted!!!!!

Least your ordering the correct ones rather than smashing in those header pipes like soo many do-cheers

Summit headers were the answer!!!! Although I had trouble getting a stock starter to fit, so I ordered a mini starter, and still ended up "clearancing" one of the tubes to clear it!! Its all good!! They're in!!!!
