Sorry for such a simple query, only had the car a short while and FSM doesn’t actually tell me.
How do I remove the headlamps? I need to check the bulbs and try swapping lights over to check them.

Do the headlights work? When you pull the switch?

There should be 4 phillips screws that need to be removed. I think 1 on top 3 on the bottom. Pull the door off. Three screws hold the ring in place. Pull the headlight. There are nubs on the head light that fit into the bucket.

Thanks Slim, I presume these screws are seen behind the headlamp as no screws are seen from the front. I also noted that there are springs fitted between the backplate and rear of headlamp.

3 screws on the front of the chrome ring around the bulb.

You should be able to loosen a couple turns, then turn the ring about 1/4 inch without fully removing the screws,

There should be just enough room to get a phillips driver between the bezel and the ring/bulb.

May need to shine a light in there.

Do any of the lights work?

I'd also check the dimmer footswitch.

Pretty common to have connection or failure issues there.

if it's not connected, the lights don't work.

With the dimmer in the "bright" position, all four bulbs should be lit.

I replaced the dimmer switch today, but in brief I have:
Drivers light low beam
Passenger side high beam
And that’s it.

I've seen some trim rings that have one screw hole where you have to remove the screw, but the other two are the twist when loose as above.

Pass side hi on the outer hi/lo bulb or on the inner hi only bulb?

I agree you can swap the working lo to the other side to verify the wires are good, etc.

Are the Lucas style lights still avail over there? Can you get seal beams over there?

I’m pretty sure I can source lights, may UK classic cars have similar set up. I appreciate the help guys. Car was a barn find pulled out of Tennessee and ended up in my garage a few weeks ago

Thanks all, realised that headlamp surrounds come off and made the job easy. Now need to find replacement light units
