has anyone installed a headliner? I’m told it is very difficult.. I have a new one now and wondered if I should give it a go myself or have someone else do it..

I have done several.......Chargers are a challenge in the rear sail panel area.....

It is a step process and knowing where to start and when to make relief cuts etc....It is not impossible....

I will say an installer can do one in a third of the time it takes me....It is a PITA moving around the inside of the car.....

My '68 Coronet was a PIA as well. '68 does not have sail panels and the headliner goes down the sail panel area and glues to the body under the package shelf. Getting that area wrinkle free was painful... It is still not perfect but good enough. Having the front and rear glass out helps a lot.

This. I did mine after removing the seats, console, etc. The sail panels are not perfect, but the original headliner looked the same in that area.

Just the general Green Chromate coating of the day that was on most fasteners and nut plates. Surprised that the evaporust removed it though! Give them a quick dusting of epoxy or any other paint you have handy so they don't rust.... I think I just RPM'd mine as at 58 I'll never be back in there! :D

Thanks for the quick response.
I was surprised it came off to. Stripped then clean quickly. I'll paint them. Been using Boeshield but want to keep proper finishes and colours where I can

Yah.. I got silly with that in a few places myself.. LOL
