Heat cycling

I'm thinking about buying a set of drag radials and saw a heat cycling service for 15 bucks a tire for them. Anyone have this done? Any info on this would be appreciated.
 
It's done regularly in road course, sprint & circle track cars, heat cycle & scuffing, for cars/tires that will go thru severe heat on the track... I'm not sure what it will benefit on a drag car, never had it done it on any of mine, that I was aware of anyway, but for only $15 it's not a big deal thou, if in doubt spend the extra $15...
 
HOW about a radial slicks?


I would need wheels/ slicks and also street tires. (mine somehow got bald). Can't afford all that right now.

I don't mind the extra 15 bucks, but I just don't want to be buying used tires for more money.
 
It's not scuffing them {or used tires}, it's running them on a roller set up for a specific time, just to "build heat", so the rubber allegedly is "cured better" {better molecular bonding} is what or how I understand it anyway... I never did it, never had any issues even when I was racing Sprint cars, but I'm not 100% sure if any of that stuff was done before I got the tires... IMHFO I think it's more of a road course, circle-track type deal, because they go thru much more extremes in temp. changes... I usually always swap my "slicks" {non-directional} from side to side/left to right, after 4 or so passes, every time I ran... I would run them around a little to get some heat in them, then check the rollout circumferences, measure it with a cloth seamstress tape or flexible tape measure, on the center of the slick/tire, if there was a difference, I'd over inflate the smaller of the 2 tires, to stretch it a little over the larger tires circumference, leave it that way in the sun for awhile, to be able to have a matching rollout dimension's, make sure to redo the air-pressures & check rollout again "before you run", for better & straighter launches, works really well, especially on hot days & a hot track surfaces... Cover the tires, especially when you have sun on one side, so they stay the same temperatures & one tire doesn't grow &/or have more pressure than the other, is also a good idea too... Good luck
