HEATER hose nipples

[1967 satellite]

Can you remove the heater hose nipples without removing the alternator bracket. I tried several sockets and none seem to fit. I hate to have to take everything apart and use a pipe wrench. Any suggestions? Many thanks. 383 motor.

Go to home depot and buy a set of these for 15 bucks..

Great for putting new ones in !!! Old ones always seem to be a tad crusty up at the slots...

Not to mention seized in there pretty good.

Every original one Ive tried to remove , required the heat wrench

Or, take a die grinder and cut a groove in the nipple, careful of the threads and then cave it in. I haven't been lucky enough to have one just turn out.

Always insert a punch, sized of the ID of the nipple into the nipple to prevent it from crushing when using a pipe wrench.
