413 cam advise needed/Hedman short headers question

Just wondering if anybody has ever used the hedman shorty headers listed for big block b bodies. Right now I have stock 66 383 manifolds on my 413. I do not have coin for full tti right now.

Also, any advise for a cam. Mid 70's 413 out of a rv, closed chamber heads, 3:23 sure grip, 27 inch tires, 750 carb, performer rpm intake. The car used to have 4:88 so it has a .509 purple shaft cam. I know the compression is way to low for the 509 and the new gears make it an even bigger pig off the line. I am not looking for max hp but rather a real nice driver with some balls. I was thinking about the hughe whiplash, lunati 60302 or 60303, or comp xe 275hl. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly will I need to install new springs? Right now the springs are doing fine with the 509 purple cam. If I do need to change the springs I would like to run a cam that I could just add the new ones without any head modification.

Not sure about the headers but I have been impressed with comp cam XE274H I'm running in my 440. Strong mid range power with lots of bottom end and sounds really good. I'm also running a 323 gear.

Thanks for the quick reply. What springs are you using with that cam. Did you have to do anything to the head to be able to use the springs.

I bought the cam kit which included the springs. Nothing special had to be done to the heads just had the machine shop install the springs at the recommended height. Usually lift under 500 you don't have to do anything special.
