I don't know why it took me so long to join up but i finally got around to it. I have been working on my 1970 Plymouth Satellite for about 4 and a half years now. Because of my work schedule, and non insulated garage, it has cut my car project down to about 6 to 8 weeks per year. So this year i am making a big push to get things going. With the bulk of the welding and body work done, it will hopefully be in paint in August. There is nothing special about this car with its stock 318 and open 8 1/4" diff with 2.73 gears. Except its the first car i have ever worked on, esoecially to this degree. I have had to learn a lot and thankfully have had a good friend help out. He is amazing at bodywork even though its not his trade. So anyway, it is great to be a part of a group that a passion for these amazing cars.

I have to disagree that your car is not special for several reasons.
Let's discount that it is a 1970 Chrysler product, has a bullet proof 318, highway gears for crusing and arguably some of the most "beautiful" lines of any car of the period.
It is special because:
1. It is yours
2. You have put the work into it.
3. Having one may make it more special IMO. Having many may make a person ungrateful for what they have.



Personally, I think "special" cars are overrated in general.
The bodies are the same.
I'm not even sure what special means in the eternal, grand scheme of things.

Welcome. I too have a 70 satellite, and I have yet to see another at any of the shows in the area. I have seen Superbirds, AAR cudas, T/A challengers, and many roadrunners and gtx's. I am starting to believe that Satellites were largely ignored and are all rusted and gone or they were all turned to clones. Either way, your car is more special than you would believe.

Welcome aboard from NJ. The 70's were very special. A friend of mine had one that was some color like B5 with some green in it with a white vinal top and white interior. Everywhere he took it, somebody would offer to buy it on the spot! What color are you going to paint yours?

Onlyone, very well said and so true. Kinda goes along with the old comment: "Beauty is in the eye of the Beerholder" and it is about choices.
