Hello Everyone

Long time Mopar enthusiast - bought my first Challenger- a convertible while in high school in 1979 - a red 383 that I've now had for over 40 years. I built that when you could still walk into the Chrysler dealer and order most parts over the counter at dealer cost - times ure have changed .Lots of others have come and gone over the years, but your first always has a special place.

Picked up a clean 60k mile 1972 charger from Arizona last year.
It's a 318 automatic, bench seat, and green with a green vinyl top.

Drove it last year, a bit underwhelming but hey, it's a B body mopar and the potential is there, just waiting to be released.

Well, winters are long here in Wisconsin, I get bored easily, and the hot rod power tour ends in Madison this year.

So... time to make a bit of a change to the powertrain.

Picked up a hellcat motor today... will drop it in with a 6 speed and RMS coilovers before June so that I can run the hot rod power tour in it with my boys and their cars. Needed a bit of an upgrade to the 318 so they wouldn't show me up on the HRPT... and well, too much is never enough.

I'll start a thread in the restomod section to share my progress and pains... and most importantly for me to get assistance from all the great, knowledgeable and helpful folks here.

Love the board - glad to be a part of it!

Bob

Welcome from Alabama, Hellcat engine and 6-speed, I would say is an acceptable upgrade.

Hello neighbor - I joined this forum a few years ago and the folks here on the forum have been of tremendous help as I restoed my '63 Plymouth. Wish I would have joined sooner as the knowledge, experience, and help finding parts has been fantastic. Amazed by the work these guys have done on their rides! Maybe will see you at the area car shows.
