HELP! How to remove that darn woodgrain?

How do you remove the freakin 40-year-old wood grain strips from door panel garnish on a 1969 Coronet R/T?

I bought these on Ebay and they need some TLC.

3M Wood Grain and Stripe Remover didn't work, by the way.

Try a heat gun and a wooden scraper.

I tried this one from Wally World:

Wagner HT1000 Heat Tool: Entry level heat gun, Power: 1,200 watts/ 4,100 BTUs, 2 heat settings: 750 and 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit

Barely worked. Took an hour to get an inch or so off.

Do you guys recommend another gun?

Blast cabinet with walnut shell or tape off the chrome and bead blast them.
