Help I.D. carrier

So i,m thinning out my parts and i came across this carrier . I pulled it years ago and inserted a spool. It worked when i pulled it or i would have thrown it out. What the heck is it? It is 30 spline and doesnt use C clips No part numbers just patent numbers . Thanks guys
