Got a bit of a rush job swapping out an LA and in an RB powerplant in my beloved '73 and my k frame is busted! I burst a weld, it is a gap about 1/4" wide and it has been trying to fold in half so this frame has to go anyways. I see no advantage to doing a Schumacher adaptor if my frame has to come out. Since I am already looking at repairing a k frame I am willing to pay for a big block k frame in ANY condition. Bent, warped, rusted through, bullet holes in it I don't care I just need it quick.

I see on this forum a usable big block frame parted out of a '74 recently went for $150, so I'll state I'm willing to pay $250 and shipping to 32405 (Panama City, Florida) depending on condition. I'll take one so bad it can only be used as a template to make a tubular frame. If you think you are too far away PM me with an estimate on shipping anyways I might be able to make it happen.

I only have a couple weeks (6 if I'm lucky) before I'll have to move the car.

will the k frame from a 72 Satellite fir your car? I have one just north of ATL and I have access to decent freight weight or we could pay my 10 year old son to make a road trip.

Except for Hemi, 71-72 are the same and 73-74 are the same for B body.
72 and 73 are different. Has something to do with suspension and steering linkage.

I'm afraid not. '73 was the first year of a lot of major changes to the suspension, despite the body being nearly identical.

I appreciate your response.

The big and small block K-frames are the same 73-74. 72 and earlier are different. The 73/74 has isolators. The isolators should be replaced with aluminum blocks. On the other hand why not just weld it? Cutting and welding K-frames is not a big deal.

this has been beat to death, but no , they are not exactly the same, I know this first hand. that's why there are conversion mounts to mount a BB in a SB K member. the left side perch is over an inch forward compared to the BB k member

Any chance you know exactly how far back the perches are in comparison to the SB frame? If I "repair" my k frame I'll do like the A body guys do and make a BB k frame and I guess I'll just hope the oil pan fits okay.
The reason I'm unwilling to put the SB k frame back in it is because I want rack and pinion steering, the correct oil pan and just maybe coil-over suspension. All can be upgraded one day at a time and as I'm driving if I have the BB frame. A tubular frame is only possible for me if I know what dimensions it has to be.
The real problem is that I move a lot for work (contractor, decorative pavers and block walls/non-masonry) and I'm looking at moving back to Tallahassee in September maybe sooner, so I dont have a stable place to put the car and I'm worried if I put it in storage it will never get fixed. The fact it's my daily driver has had me on the motorcycle in the rain lately, so there's a lot of rush factor here for me.
