I need to replace my rear end on my 63 belvedere. I'm putting in a 440.
The problem is the rear axles need to be swapped out because they have the push on hubs, and discs will not work. the 63 is actually 1.75 inches shorter than the older B Bodies.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work without spending $2500 on a new rear end?

Yes, Summitracing has rear disc's made for that style of axle. If not wanting to go that route, get another housing from a 65 or later and bolt it in. Center section will swap straight over.

Yep, the later b-body rears work great and are plentiful.

I used a '69 or '70 Charger 8 3/4 rear in my '63 330 and it bolted right in.

It is, IIRC, about 1/2 wider on each side.

Yea I put a drum to drum rear from a 65 B-body in my 63 Sport Fury. Ron
