Hello.
I live in Norway, and i have a 1978 Chrysler Cordoba, with vin number SS22N8R254880, i know that this car came to Norway in 1988.
Is it in any way possible to track the history of this car from it was new in 1978 until it ended up in Norway in 1988?
There is a small emblem on the deck lid (see picture) that says POQUOSON Hampton, VA., could this be the name of the dealer who sold the car when it was new, and if so, is it possible that they still could have some information about it?

Yes, that is definitely the dealer, as I've lived in the area of Hampton, VA for most of my life. Unfortunately Poquoson Chrysler/Plymouth has been out of business since the early nineties if I recall correctly. I don't believe the building they were in is still there either. I think there's a wal-mart where they used to be. It's very likely it was owned by someone in the military as this is a big military area. Lots of Army guys from Ft. Eustis near Hampton and lots of Navy people from the base in Norfolk.
Edit:
I could be wrong, it's possible that Pomoco Chrysler took over poquoson Chrysler and I'm thinking of a different dealership that used to be where the walmart is now. I doubt seriously that they'd have any info on vehicles sold that long ago, but you could always email someone there and ask. Their website is www.pomocochryslerjeepofhampton.com I see someone else already noted the Pomoco chrysler link, guess I should read the other replies first. :)

Since CARFAX and similar services do NOT exist for 1980 and older vehicles, your only option would be to contact the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. If a vehicle is in YOUR name and you can prove ownership with a title or similar paperwork, the Commonwealth will provide you with Virginia title information for as long as it was titled and registered in Virginia.

I have been in contact with pomocochryslerjeepofhampton, but they could not help me, the vin number on my car has 13 digits, and pomoco needed a 17 digit vin number to help me.
They also told me that i could try to contact dmv for information, so i think i might do that.
