im not sure but i thought that the 11 inch flywheel was used in the 440 426 and the 10.5 flywheel was 383 is that correct ? and how do you measure the bellhousing to know if its an 11 or 10.5 ? thanks

You need to post the casting number of the bell and we can tell you. Chrysler changed back n fourth over the years. Hemi 440 didn't mean anything after 1970 they were mostly 10.5.

ok, ill dig it out tomorrow get numbers

ok bellhousing is # 2463019 its cast iron is it a 11 inch or 10.5 ?

According to Brewer's, that is a 10.5" bellhousing for a 130 tooth flywheel.

oh it is, thanks for the info, any idea wat year ?

According to my list that bell is for a 64 B body with an 11" clutch.

is there a way too measure it to be sure ?

im wanting to put in 70 roadrunner with 383. my tranny is out of a 69 roadrunner. i dont have the front bearing retainer piece either

Google Brewers. They have bearing retainers and anything else you might need for a 4 speed. Good people to deal with and will answer any questions you might have.

Interesting. GG white book says 11". Just had dinner with the Brewers while at Carlisle. They usually know their stuff.

About 3 years ago I was working on a 63 Dodge 440, while at Carlisle I talked to Brewers about belhousings to fit my 63, they said there were three different ones of which 019 was one that would fit. It had to do with lining the bellhousing up correctly with the Z bar/cross shaft since the engine is in a different position in the early B bodies. They said later bells will not work in early cars or early bells in later B bodies. That's my story and I'm sticking to it, but it has been 3 years ago, maybe 4.

ok thanks. so the earlier bellhousing my not work with my z bar in my rr

well i gues i need a bellhousing then for my 70 roadrunner and looks like i have a bellhousing for a 64 b body too sell

ok thanks. so the earlier bellhousing my not work with my z bar in my rr

Yes, but call Brewers to be sure. This is my recollection of 3 to 4 years ago. It was based on the engine location in 65 and earlier cars.
