Hi everyone in the middle of resto on a 67 GTX preparing to strip prime and paint interior floor Automatic console car need to know where a spring goes to that I have found on the brake pedal support there are 2 small slots on the top that the spring fits in and it was dangling I do not see where it would connect to the brake pedal in any way does it go someplace else thanks

goes to the pivot rod for brake pedal...it's an anti-chatter spring....service manual will show this also

Thanks for the info I combed the whole shop manual and did not find it this car has power disc brakes I do not know if that makes a difference

It's hard to see, but it does hang vertically and clip onto the small rod that transfers pedal movement to that compound assembly in the car. There should be (I think) a small groove in the rod that that retains the spring on that end. I don't think it does much other than the anti-rattle feature mentioned previously. Also, I don't think I've seen it in a manual either.

I still do not see it does anyone have a pic thanks

Go here. Do you see the linkage in the upper right corner of the picture? The spring clips to the groove in the middle of it. Pretty hard to photograph in the car, but if that doesn't help, I'll try this weekend.

Thanks for the pic but the spring is on the inside of the vehicle on that brace over the steering column there are 2 slits in there for the spring I do not have that linkage in your pic on the inside of my car it is the hemi booster set up only one rod coming in and it is flat no grooves that was my first instinct but can not find a home for it
