Hello Everyone,

I've jumped back onto my 1969 Road Runner project. The car has been sitting for about 7 years with me and at that time I ordered some hemi leaf springs. Fast forward to this weekend, and I have installed them.

However, I'm having some issues. My rear shackle angle is awful and my pinion has a noticeable positive angle now due to it. I could use shims to correct the pinion angle but I'm looking to try and do it right and am concerned about the rear shackle angle.

I was wondering if maybe there was a different front leaf spring body mount I should have used that maybe has the front leaf spring eye a bit more towards the rear as I'm guessing that will push my rear shackle bottom vertical or towards the bumper more, maybe something specific to Hemi leaf springs (kind of like how SS Springs have the front mounts that have the front spring eye two inches towards the rear i believe)? The car had a 383 originally and regular leaf springs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated everyone and I thank you for ALL for your time. If no one has an idea, no worries. I'm just trying to get it buttoned up enough for the next Guy as I'll be selling it soon. In the past years I finally got my coveted 69 Charger which is also a project and I finally decided I just don't have the room for two gigantic B Bodies in the garage that are paper weights right now lol. Thanks again everyone!

I'm sorry the photo is messed up for some reason it's up loading like this even after I tried rotating it a few times. So if you can just imagine rotating to the right 90 degrees, that's what it looks like with the shackle bottom towards the front of the car (the attachment point you see on the left is the spring perch).

I thought the hemi springs used the same brackets as the ss springs..

I have only ever seen the 2 types of front eye brackets, the short ones that would be on cars with the std springs and then the longer version that is on cars with the ss springs..

If this is the set you have, I believe you will need the ones above http://www.manciniracing.com/marasphaset4.html

measure your rear springs center of the eye to center of the rear shackle mount and post the measurement I will check what is on my cars, I have 1 with ss and 1 with std..

measure the length of the front half of the springs. stock would be 22". super stock is 20".

Thank you! I appreciate it very much Seventy. Im getting a little over 55 1/2 inches, eye to eye. The springs have 7 leafs on the passenger side and 6 on the driver side. Another interesting thing is, when I measured from the front spring eye to the center of the leaf springs, I'm getting 22" which would indicate stock as per lewtot184's comment below. It seems in theory regardless of the SS vs. Stock length, those SS front leaf spring mounting brackets or something comparable should rectify my situation by moving the leaf spring back by roughly two inches and fixing my front leaning bottom shackle problem? Do you think I should put them on?

It looks like you have super stock springs by my measurements, I would grab a set of them hangers, not sure if there is anyone cheaper or better than mancini, I know year one gets over $100 for a set...
