If you ordered the Hemi suspension on a 70 RR what was the difference between it and the normal HD suspension a 383 road runner would come with? How can you tell if hemi suspension has been added, or was installed on a 70 Roadrunner. I have extra leaf springs, but was there a larger Front Torsion bars used? What about sway bar? Specific measurements I should look for? Thanks, G

Look at the bottom right of the pic and you shall have part of your answer.

Thank you, I have seen that info, unfortunately it doesn't really answer the question because RR came with those components. I am trying to find out the difference between a RR HD Torsion Bar and a Hemi version. Same with sway bar. I am assuming thickness, but not sure. G

The 383 4bbl is .900,the Hemi bar is .920,sway bar is the same.

There were also torque boxes welded on to strengthen the chassis, not only on Hemi cars but also convertibles.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I believe the torque boxes were NOT part of the Hemi suspension. I have the Hemi suspension on my 70 Road Runner, and it has the aforementioned parts, but did NOT have torque boxes. Torque boxes were added to Hemi cars, and maybe 440+6, but again, I think they are unrelated to the Hemi suspension option...

It is my understanding torgue boxing only came on convertibles and 440-6 or hemi cars with 4 speed manuals. I may be wrong but this is also what I have observed.

My car is a 440 six bbl, 4 speed track pak and has no torque boxes.
Not everything is set in stone I guess.

Maybe only the Hemis and Convertibles got them? :shruggy:

Very help. Turns out I have the hemi suspension added too. I did check my broadcast sheet against a Hemi Superbird and the sway bar had the same code. Only the torsion and rear springs where different. No torque boxes on mine. Can anyone help on the interior question? G

My 72 RR GTX 4 speed Dana car has it all but front to rear ties from factory. If I can find the build sheet will look see if there is a special code.

Anyone know what build sheet frame code 75 would be in 72? This is the only thing I could find that may have a link to torque boxing.

Convertibles, Hemi and Six bbl cars got them, not sure why my car doesn't have them, just another mopar mystery I guess.
