 These were erosional sandstone beds laid down when then the mountains before last were eroded. Then the NEW Rockies came along and tilted them up vertically. It's called Garden of the Gods.

I lived in Canon City (about 30 miles south) for ten years and worked in the Springs for awhile. Your recommendation is well taken, and I'll add my own here. DO NOT MISS IT if you're in the area. A lot of car commercials are filmed there too. The Air Force Academy (especially the chapel) is also a cool place to see, as is Seven Falls especially at night. I'd move back in a heartbeat if given the chance and the funds ...

The same beds form Bandimere Speedway in Denver and the Red Rocks Amphitheater. They just aren't quite as vertical. They are full of dinosaur footprints.

Beautiful country

:thankyou:

Are you a Colorado real-estate, recreation or travel agent ? :poke:
or on some community board, promoting Colorado ? :poke:

I've noticed lately, you're pushing Colorado's attributes hard lately
It seems you wouldn't want some of 'the undesirables' to fill your
once great state, tourism or real-estate...:moparsmiley:

:luvplace:

I get it, I love my state too, I'm loyal as hell,
I'm proud of many aspects that people never hear about too,
all the people & news spew is the negative BS
I'm a native, not some transplant, transient etc.

We also have some absolutely beautiful country,
the mountains, beaches & ocean here too...

Well, I do love what it use to be & love the rural parts of the state...

Much like Colorado, I dislike the bigger inner-cities... :carrot:
Avoid them like the plague...

A new spot for the wife and I to visit .Nice scenery ..

Thanks for posting
