Hello people!
I might as well say this to begin with, I don't have a B-body. Well, not yet at least. So far, apart from my daily ruster, the Honda, there's only room for my '72 Challenger Rallye where I live.
Which is in a condominium in Oslo, Norway. Obviously, I don't have my Chally in the apartment, it's too high up from the street level to start with, and while I have great neighbours, I doubt that the neighbours in the apartment below mine would agree to let me have a grease pit in my living room.
So that's out. Doesn't really make a difference, it's to small anyway, couldn't even fit the Honda in there even if I wanted. Somehow, I suspect that this is perfectly allright for my girlfriend. Never asked her though.
Also, the streets of Norway's capital is not where you'd like to fight for room of your third car, particularily if your third car would happen to be a large B-body.
While parking space is one thing that keeps me from leaping at a suitable b-body for sale, cashflow is another. I'm throwing a lot of my income after my Chally, not that I really regret that, but I'm told that I should eat too. Maybe even buy clothes and personal hygiene products as well. Also, the girlfriend should recieve some maintenance too.
I've been back and forth on b-bodies. Before I got my Chally, I had a crush on 68-69 Road Runners. Then I got into E-bodies, and had enough $$$ to spare at a critical moment, so now I cruise around in a E-body, and are loving it. Still, I knew I wanted a second older american car. There's a lot of nice things that can be said for E-bodies, but spacious interior isn't one of them. I would like a car with leg room for the friends in the back seat, for longer trips.
While they're far from roomy, I really like the A-bodies, wouldn't mind a 68-69 Dart GT cab, a 67-69 Barracuda Anyback, a Duster or a Demon. Gotta love that name on a car! That really got some balls, Dodge have some good model names, unlike Audi, who decided to name one of their models after a papersheet size, the A4.
Then there's the cool C-bodies. I can easily imagine myself in a Plymouth VIP landyacht with phat wheels, a custom paintjob, and something big and blown discreetely tucked in under a flat hood.
I could really like something like that for long distance driving, as long as there was an overdrive in there somewhere, 518 or GV.
But recently I saw a real nice blown four door B5 Satelite, and that made me remember a B5 Satelite wagon I read about in Mopar Muscle, If my memory serves me right, the owner found out about the then new B-bodies that had been spiced up by Mr. Norm, and asked Mr. Norm nicely to improve his car.
With a bit of luck, the owner of that one will either be here already, or register.
Anyway, that made me reconsider my ideas about a future second old Mopar.
Guess there's still time to change my mind several times over before I actually get to buy one, but never mind that. I'm sure a four door Satelite, or a wagon with nice wheels, ditto paintjob, and something shameless under the hood would be roomy, good looking, enjoyable, and cool as f...
