hey,

just 4 fun..can someone post pics of high mileage mopars?
300.000 mile chargers...250.000 mile roadrunners?
My old 72 Duster /6 had 270.000 on the odometer

thanks in advance,
Marcel

i doubt there are alot out there, drivetrains back then werent built to last that long and if the car was driven that much Im sure it underwent some sort of restoration at some point and odometer rolled back. I had 180,000 on a 1975 Fury 4-dr with a 360 before I blew up the engine street racing.

there was a guy at carlilse with a daily driven single owner hemi charger. there was like an inch of oil around the block. driven since he bought it.

My 71 charger just rolled over to 300,000 last summer. The guy I bought it from said its numbers motor and tranny were never pulled. I have no way of telling that though.

Ya know, I think there might be a bunch of slant 6s out there that might fit this thread. Most of the V8s got the pants beat off them, along with the 396s & 428s they where killing LOL !

I believe my 67 Coronet 500 convertible had something over 300,000 miles on it when I bought it. Previous owner had then installed a '72 318 and fixed it up for his daughter.
I've had it for many years and have had body work and paint redone and now have a 383 under the hood from another 67 Coronet. I have know idea what the actual mileage really is or how many miles were on the original 318.
I had a buddy in high school back in the late 70's, whose dad had a slant six 67 Dart with 325,000 miles on it when he sold it.

Below is my 1979 Dodge Magnum I purchased off the only owner of it....making me the second owner of the car. When I made the money for iron exchange, he gave me everything. The records he kept were unbelieveable. EVERYTHING was marked down. I mean everything.

He stopped recording the miles after 10 years of ownership in 1989 with 325,000 miles, where as of then, his eldest daughter got the car for 4 years of collage 3 hours away, home every weekend for cloths and money.

After she did her 4 years, his eldest son got the car for 4 more years at the same collage. While he wasn't home every weekend, he do what most boys do with a free car. Trash it and drive the freakin socks outta it everywhere. Multi state junts, over nighters/weekenders half the time he was laffin at the stroy of not nowing what state he woke up in.

After the 8 years as the slave teenage runner, he then re took the car back as a daily driver to and from work. His morning travel was 40 miles....and then again at night, another 40 miles.

Chruch, super market, school runs (For the 2 younger kids) are not included in the daily type chores it seen.

But for 10 more years, he did just that commute and around town bologna.

How many miles? Beats the crap outta me, gotta be at least 500,000 mile or more. But move it did and the 318 chugs on.

He equiped it with the Edelbrock Performer package, no headers, stock single exhaust. Everything else was dead stone stock.

The 318 now powers the Duster to high 14 1/4's.
