I have a door that sags. The hinges are worn out. You can buy bushings and new hinge pins or buy new hinges. What's your thought on the best way to go? If I buy the bushings and pins, does the bushing go in the part of the hinge that the screwdriver is pointing to in the picture?

No, bushings go in the other part and if it is worn to bad, bushings will not fix it. It's also very difficult to replace bushings with the hinge still in the car. I removed my hinges then rebuilt them. Not a real easy job but......what job is ? Good luck

heres a couple of pics of upper n lower drivers side doorDSCF3187.jpgDSCF3186.jpg n yes i know the pin is in upside down

Bushings are cake. I used to do S-10 truck doors in 10 minutes. Have a helper support the door on a floor jack, air chisel the pins out. Now slide the door outward on the jack enough to give you working room or just remove the door and set aside. No reason to remove hinge bolts. Knock out the old bushings. I use a washer,5/16" bolt , 13mm socket, washer, and a nut in this order to press the bushings back in. The bushing will come through the hinge and into the hole provided by the space in the socket. Repeat for all 4 bushings, reinstall the pins. On a Mopar you will have to drill one hinge for bushings as they have none. If the drill does have enough room to drill straight; drill 2 1/8" holes through the hinge into the body before removing the hinge. You can now line it back up by placing 2 1/8 rods or drill bits in these holes. You can use the S-10 GM kit from Auto Zone but the pins maybe to long.

Doug, the bushings that are going in on the bottom hinge are they installed like the top hinge? There is a knurled part of the pin that presses into the bottom hinge on the outside. Do the bushings just go on the inside hinge

Yes they go on the inside. It's been awhile since I did a Mopar. I may have spot faced the inner for clearance for the "top hat" portion of the bushing. I believe if the old pin is good it can be reused. If not a push nut can be used with the new pin.
