Hobart Alter won't be down for breakfast

RC/DH I was going to post that too, being an old surfer in my youth, before I got over 200#'s about 17 y/o was a rubber-like/limber person, steamers shark bait, I had a couple of his boards, from Dana Point... But I didn't figure anyone would know, "who he actually was", he was a great innovator surfboard shaper & designer, pretty much "father" of the mass produced & much lighter & buoyant Styrofoam/Fiberglass structured surfboard {honeycombed/fiberglass surfboards also}, if you weren't into surfing or lived on the west coast, Surf City/LA to Santa Cruz... RIP Hobie...

I knew the name from sailing. Although mine is not a Hobie Cat, he inspired others to build lightweight & fast catamarans.

My buddy had a Hobie 18 and we capsized it in SF Bay. I was on the harness and lost my footing and slid down the trampoline. Had a hell of a time getting it righted and when we finally did the tip of the mast had mud on it. Not very deep out there. I'll stick to the boats that have spark plugs - preferably 8 of them.
