I have a 68 coronet in the process of restoration. I need to know the measurements to center of the air cleaner on a 440 with a 4bbl, so I can cut the hole in my hood for my scoop. Unfortunately the engine is not in the car yet, but I want to get the hole cut before I finish painting the hood. Thanks Jason

If no one else steps up I could measure four points to the carb center stud on the Super Bee. It's a 383 car but I don't think there's any difference.

Front - 25 1/4"
Rear - 14 3/8"
Left - 27 1/2"
Right - 24 3/4"
I subtracted 3/16" for gap.

Just measured my slight dent in o.e. hood and its 25" rt.side of hood and 15" from rear of hood. The dent is not quite in center of hood; it's about 1" to the right of centerline of hood.Just go with lionized figures.Obviously the engine is not quite centered

Those measurements will vary from car to car since the motor mounts are adjustable from side to side. I had to move my engine toward the passenger side last year for the headers to clear the power steering box. Why not cut on center since it will not show until you raise the hood? Are you going to make your hood seal to the breather?

Obviously my measurement won't be perfect for every b-body with all the variances. I put a 6pak hood on mine when racing years ago and just fabricated a metal bottom with foam rubber to seal to the hood with a 4-bbl.I'd just go centered on the hood also, knowing you'll have to adapt a little if you want to seal to carb/intake system.

Going to stuck with the inch off center. I measure the motor mounts and they are an inch off center.
