This strikes me as a dumb question but here it goes. When adjusting my throttle linkage, my gas pedal does not have enough travel to bring the carb from idle to WOT with the throttle plates fully vertical. I can bring the linkage all the way by hand, but the gas pedal wont do it.

Could it be firewall padding stopping it?

Any way to adjust the linkage to help?

Any aftermarket parts (besides the Holley)? You can more gain travel on the pedal with less pull on the carb by moving the throttle cable stud closer to the pivot point of the throttle quadrant on the carb. But, depending what you got, that could require just moving the stud, possibly drilling a hole or even buying a Holley quadrant adapter to accommodate the wanted position. Like you mentioned, I would secure the carb at WOT and look underneath to see if there is a clearance issue at the pedal. Also make sure you have no slack/play in the cable at idle. Good luck HT

You need the Chrysler throttle adapter and your problems will go away.

Ya know what? It actually was too much carpet padding. I double layered it on the firewall last year and I never thought twice about it. Dumb I guess, but it sure is nice when the solution is so simple. Thanks guys.

I installed spacers under the front of the pedal to raise it and give me more "pull":blob1:
