I was reading up on the progress of the Road Runner concept car that Michael Leonhard is making, and he mentioned that the designer wanted a honeycomb grill in the front, and they are making it using side panels from a plastic shopping cart, sort of like the ones Target and other stores use.

I had never thought of doing a honeycomb grille for my Road Runner, but I sure like the looks of them on my Interceptors, so I'm thinking I might need to hit some surplus yards and find some old carts to cut panels from and see how that looks.

Another cool thing they are doing for the car is taking a plexiglass panel, painting it black, then deep engraving the road runner head from the back side. They mount a blue led light behind the head. With the light off, you can barely see there's anything there, but with the light on you have a bright blue road runner head showing through the panel. I think that looks cool too, but can't think of anyplace I could use it on a 73/74 car.

You mean like the 1970 GTX or Sport Satellite honeycomb grills? I always like those.

Bruzilla - I can get you a couple of black carts if you wanna mess around with the idea ........... let me know, I'm across the river from you.
