well just when you think you got it beat another small problem rears its ugly head.
I have a pristine powder coated m1 single plane intake, truly a thing of beauty but my hood on my 70 charger wont clear it (insert your own string of expletives) it doesnt look like theres enough to machine off the carb base, is there anything out there that has all the benifeits of the m1 but will clear?

440 .30 over

410 gears
3500 stall
230/230 hydraulic cam @ 50

I cant even shut the hood with just the carb on top, hmm maybe I'll 86 the air cleaner stud, that just popped into my melon

yea I'm looking on line, the original hood is pristine so not cutting that, I'll look around for a beat up hood, I think I saw one on cl once

I sure wouldn't remove that good intake. That motor is stout enough to benefit from a functional scoop anyway.

I like the T/A style scoop the only thing I'd change is I'd get rid of the pedestal base and have it sit flush on the hood so it wont break the sleek lines of the stock hood.

why not get a glass hood with the scoop already formed to it.i think there are a few companys that offer that option.

I've been shoping around and theres one out there that will make your design, the name escapes me at the momment

universal used to.(got one for a 68 charger)but some have said there quality is not so great anymore.been a while since i used them.
