Hood Emblem Removal

I want to replace the 383 hood emblems on my 69 Road Runner. Does anyone know how to remove them? They have tapered studs and I'm thinking you have to tap them out but don't want to mess them up.

Do you have a air grabber under the hood?
I can't remember if there are speed nuts under the air grabber holding the emblem on. I do know they are slightly tapered.
