Hood insert questions for 71 & 72 RR and gtx hoods

HI

1. ) anyone know where to buy new bolts or studs for the hood inserts

2.) is there suppose to be a gasket in-between hood and insert like on other hoods ? or they just bolt on ?

3.) a couple of the holes in the inserts are stripped out .. anyone have any clever tricks for this problem ?

Al Wilsom makes the only correct stud. http://www.n96airgrabber.com/
No gasket.
I've used a little PVC glue to make new threads. Pretty much just glue the stud in. Don't use fiberglass resin.

im only missing 2 studs . wonder if a guy could use real short lag bolt ? probly best to get the stud ?

No problem. Yes they are the same stud as the A/G hoods

These are available at R/T Specialties. He also sells the correct bell nuts (4 required) as well as the other style nuts for the remaining studs.

Forgot to mention that there are to different sizes. I believe the larger size (as in the photo) is the one you need.

I bought some from Tom, R/T and they were smaller than my originals thats why I stated that Al had the only "correct" ones. Maybe Tom has changed them since?? Only thing I've got from Tom in a decade that I wasn't happy with. How ever Tom didn't have the bell nuts before so I'll be checking those out.
