Did the 62 Polara come with a hood insulation pad from factory? If so, any ideas on where to get?

The one on mine looks like it's made of brillo pad. Can't believe it to be correct.

Thanks.

Mine has the original one on it. Its black and is of a spun, compressed, type material. I can get you pics later tonight.

Here ya go.

It's just like compressed fiberglass. Two layers, black with a tan layer underneath. It also has a pattern to it. My rubber seal, hood to rad support, is missing.

Personally, I'll probably leave it off. I like the painted look. Adds more color in the engine bay. JMO

I'm not sure where to find the exact replacement but I have seen new ones on ebay

When I take it off I'll see what it looks like under. If it's bad I'll check out ebay. They also put the same brill pad stuff in trunk. Found a trunk mat on ebay. Thanks again.

Let me know how the trunk mat looks when you get it. I'm always sceptical about some of these reproductions.

Will do. I just tore out the old one this morning and will put the new one in later this week.
