I received the following PM from Glassman today and have elected to answer it here, as there is some information that may interest other members:
From Glassman:
"All scoops with the inward mounting flanges will one day crack and please do use a center stud or you will loose that scoop asap. I make fiberglass hemi and max wedge scoops for a living and have made close to a thousand of them. All of mine have a no stress mounting system and a warranty against blow offs and cracking. www.sledcityevents.com"

Glassman: I am well aware of your company and did consider your hemi scoops, especially because you are a member of this forum. If you read my original post concerning my experience with Glasstek, you saw that one of my primary concerns was customer service. Cost between your company and Glasstek was not a factor, as there wasn't much difference. I went with Glasstek wholly based on reviews from prior customers. Your company's reviews ran hot and cold; that is I read as many bad ones as good ones. Since I have no personal history with your company I can't say how the transaction would have gone, but I wasn't willing to take a chance.
Thank you for the product information.

Guess we better bolt them on good huh Dave? I haven't decided what to use for a center studs, I think I am going with two.

My scoop looks pretty solid, I am probably 4 weeks out on hood work.

What are you putting your scoop on?

This max wedge scoop has been on this car for 35 years and still ok.
The underside was cut to allow the 2 4 barrels air cleaners to clear some time years ago when the original 383 4 barrel was replaced with a 1964 426 max wedge

Looks good on there. I'm mounting the earlier hemi scoop on my 63 Fury with a max wedge and crossram (the picture below). The air cleaners are very close to the hood and I want to make enough room to put 1" spacers under the carburetors to help with fuel percolation in the summer and to keep the engine compartment a little cooler. Also, I like the looks.
If I was racing the car I would consider the support stantions, but, like I stated, the scoop is plenty stiff without them.
I'm not worried about the flanges cracking on the scoop I bought...
