Anyone ever use the Hoosier radial slicks? I need to make a decision quickly to either return them for a set of M/T slicks or mount em up and cross my fingers they hook. I really dont want another set of M/T's

I spent and hour trying to match up Goodyears/Hoosiers and Phoenix tires and nothing matched the size of my current but shot M/T slicks. Summit sold me these 30/10.50's and they're perfect, but I didnt notice they were radials. Not quick time pro's either.

We've used them. They're good tires but they only last about 30-35 passes and they're usually shot even though there is plenty of tread left.
The only other down side to Radials, they are AWSOME on good tracks... but when you're on a maraginal track, not so much.
At Norwalk I'd run them no problem, At Trails we would put the bias on.

With this all being said - Radials are worth at least a .10 in et. if you want to go fast they are the way to go.

Hope this helps

I run 30 x 9 x 15 Hoosier Radial slicks on my car and they work great!! :headbang: I recently bought a pair of Hoosier bias-plys and I hate them. I'm just giving you my two cents.

I HAVE THEM AND LOVE THEM. Just like Kevin said, when they work they are awesome.
They dont last too long though.30-35 passes max.
I do however run M/T 29.5 x 10.5W x15 and 31 x 10.5W x15 bias plys with great success also. 100+ passes

I put 29.5/10.50 bias M/T's back on. The track I race at is poorly prepped and very slick. Thanks for you opinions.

That's my local track also. We don't race there much because we only run NS/S and Chrysler events.
We've been out to test at QC a few times last year and the traction was great! The best I've ever seen it.
I had heard they changed traction compound the first part of the year and the racers about had a revolt. But from what I read on their web site they went back to VHT.

I like QC; the only thing they need to work on is there organization. They're way too slow moving cars through the lanes.

I use the Hoosier radial slick also. I use the 30 x 9 tires and I drive them on the street also. Been on my car over 2 years on the street and made about 20 to 30 track passes also. They work great on my 63. Ron

They resurfaced the entire track this spring, thats probably contributing to the traction issues as well as the chinese traction compound. I also heard the VHT was coming back.

You're dead on about the organization, door cars and dragsters are supposed to be in the staging lanes at 1:00. That never happens, its been more like 2:30 - 3:00. So theres a lot of standing around. I'm just tired of it, plus its $45 to run Pro/modified. Norwalk only charges $35 and is a superior facility.
