My wife suprised me with a new pair of slicks for my dodge, she's a keeper, and I had a question on size. Currently running 29.5/10.50/ 15 M/T slicks. She bought me a pair of 29.5/10.50/15 Hoosiers.
According to summit racing, the Hoosiers are 30in diameter, 10.50 tread width and 13.10 section width.

M/T's are 29.90 tire diameter, 10.20 tread width and 13.10 section width.

I'm worried that the Hoosiers may rub the front of my quarter panel being larger in diameter and once they're mounted I'm stuck with em.

Great wife... If I under stand what your worried about... A 1/10" {0.10"}taller & a 3/10" {0.30"} wider, I would think it shouldn't make any difference, unless you were really too close to the inner fender or lip, to begin with, remember it is displaced on both, top & bottom & both sides only .150" on each side thats barely over a 1/8" on each side & the 0.05" ride height won't even be hardly noticable... I say measure the "roll-out" circumference of the M/T slick/tire & the Hoosiers slicks/tire then divide that number by 0.314 that is the "actual tire diameter", not advertised... What was the "actual" girth/section width & tire diameter of the old tires ??, rarely are they, what are rated at, in size... Is this going on the 68 Coronet ??, you should have plenty of room with the "right rim offset"/BS/width & with the proper ride hieght... I know it's apples & oranges in comparison, but I had Good Year 31"x10.5"x15" on 9.5"x15" w/5.5" back spaced "Halibrands" wheels at one time, {if I remember correctly} on my old 68 RR {pretty close to the same wheel well as the 68 Coronet, I would think}, plenty of room, even for growth during the burn out & maybe 1/2" side to side clearance from the springs & inner wheel wells, it was kind of close to the very front of the wheel well, but never rubbed, the car had CalTracs & Mono leafs too, raised 1.5" over the original stock leaf springs.... There is a tool made by PERCY "tire fitment tool", it's like $70 from Summit Racing you can measure the wheel opening very accurately, never get the wrong rim & tire ever again, with the tool, it's a great tool to have around, for a little investment...

I have enough room between the wheel lip and spring, its the front of the quarter I'm worried about. I have about a half inch now with the M/T's. I'm worried about both the burn out growth and at the top end of the track at 120 mph.

You make a good point, they may advertise on size and it could be smaller or bigger. Wish I could talk a buddy into buying that tool and borrow it! I'll measure em both tonight and see whats up. I really like the Hoosiers with the white letters better than my plain black M/T's. this will be the first set of Hoosiers I've run. Always stuck with M/T.

I had very good luck with Hoosiers years ago, I ran a few sets, on door cars & I went the fastest with the Hoosiers on my 23 Altered, better 60ft over the M/T's & Good Years of equal size at the time... I haven't used any for 10+ years now...
