horn ring spring

i put mt restored steeringwheel on my 70rr,but the horn ring seems to be to easy to mash. is there something like a coil spring that goes under the plate that the horn ring bolts to?

Sounds like the horn switch has gone bad. You need one of these.
I'm sure you can find one for less, but it's what you need.
