Interesting idea. Not sure how feasible this would be; however, Stellantis is not the way forward for our beloved Mopar brand. Thoughts? (*NSFW language)

Sounds like a nice idea but I don't think this will ever happen. It will take many shareholders to make this happen. Then even if this was successful, more monies would be needed to possibly purchase the plants to keep making the brands we love. This would take a very large Brain Trust to complete this mission. The CEO of Stellantis just stated the other day that Chrysler is only a name of the past and no longer an American company, its a foreign company. He also said that there are layoffs coming in the thousands and there is talk that the old Chrysler Headquarters here in Auburn Hills Michigan may even close down due to the many layoffs of the white collar jobs in that building. He is looking at a 30% cut in personnel. He is looking at a EV First strategy which personally for me is not gonna make them more $$$. He also stated that they will be closing at least 2 plants. Not specific as to which plants.

They got what they wanted and said f the Americans. We got the truck and Jeep line so good by ... Cash out and walk away. Meanwhile in the back my thick head I knew it was coming... now to deal with the future.. Iacocca is rolling over and Sergeo Marchino cherry is saying we finally got someone to merge with us and look at it. I can’t understand it ...other than f USA and we will build our junk elsewhere and we aren’t an American company! Thanks Barrack it finally went full circle. Sorry if I went off the rails but this has bothered me since Barrack left it go.. maybe the same time Hillary sold the Wyoming uranium to the Russians ... I see a pattern and I’m so tired of it . If you need to edit I get it.

Timing is not good for any new vehicle sales at the present time. The LX magic is gone, and the Hemi is dead. Once those two momentums was interrupted the game ended.

Once Stellantis realizes Americans still don't want Alfa Romeo rebadged overpriced unreliable junk they will announce a exit plan and some Asian manufacturer will acquire Jeep and RAM.

In the '90s, there was talk of Kirk Kerkorian taking Chrysler over to save it after Daimler took it over, but it didn't happen then, either.

In the 1990s, Kerkorian and his company, Tracinda, were the largest shareholders in the Auburn Hills, and he frequently pressed Chrysler management to increase dividends and stock buybacks. Kerkorian made his first investment in Chrysler in 1990 after meeting with Lee Iacocca, the company's CEO. When the company didn't perform as he'd planned five years later, his position as a passive investor gave way to a takeover bid. He eventually lost, but only after a long and bloody battle. He initiated a hostile takeover effort for Chrysler in 1995. While Chrysler management rejected the takeover, it spurred then-CEO Robert Eaton to initiate merger talks with Daimler-Benz AG.

Kerkorian backed the 1998 merger of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler, but later sued DaimlerChrysler for mismanagement of the combined business.

In 2006, Kerkorian's Tracinda made an appearance at General Motors. In the spring of 2005, he began purchasing GM stock. That dance, however, was in vain, as Kerkorian and GM's management did not get along. In 2006, when he purchased 9.9% of the company's stock, Kerkorian pushed for GM, Nissan Motor, and Renault USA to form a global collaboration. But Tracinda sold its GM stock after the board of directors voted to cease talks on the proposed merger. Jerry York, a Kerkorian adviser, pushed GM to modify its business model faster; he quit 10 months after having joined the board of directors.

He offered $4.5 billion for the Chrysler Group in April 2007, but Daimler AG rejected it in favor of a bid from Cerberus Capital Management LP. He promised to give Chrysler's unions and management a share of the company's ownership.

Kerkorian is best known in Detroit for his failed takeover attempt of old Chrysler in 1995 and his futile efforts to persuade GM to form a partnership with Renault SA and Nissan Motor in 2006, but he also had a hand in the Blue Oval. Kerkorian's Tracinda owned a 6.5 percent stake in Ford Motor Company in 2008. Tracinda, on the other hand, began selling Ford stock later in the year, having lost hundreds of millions of dollars. However, he profited $2.7 billion from his Chrysler stakes and around $100 million from his General Motors holdings. As mentioned in the article by Detroit Free Press, Tracinda said in a statement in the fall 2008 that “in light of current economic and market conditions, it sees unique value in the gaming and hospitality and oil and gas industries and has, therefore, decided to reallocate its resources and to focus on those industries.”

I wonder how much in terms of percentage of Stellantis shares it would take to gain real control. Less than half, I'd think, assuming you would have at least a few other parties voting with you. If it took 1/3 of the shares, then you'd need about 22 million investors in your group, putting in $1000 each. That's based on the current valuation of Stellantis at 64.4 Billion dollars.

Globalists took over Chrysler and are stabbing it with their cold steel knives with glee on their face. What is happening now, the stuff they offer, it is their way of beating the last bit of money out of a company they have no intention of investing in. When the last penny is beaten out, they will bury the nameplate and pop a cork and laugh.

This is what happens when a company born in the USA is sold to globalists in a foreign land that hate out country. Brand loyalty is an alien concept to globalists. Nostalgia does not exist. History, pedigree..... nope. Money, and short term profit, and consolidation is what matters, workers are assets that they can't sell/liquidate, variety is inefficient.
The hornet is a thing.
The durango will likely be replaced by an Alfa Romeo jellybean with a turbo 4.
Jeep will too, besides the ones they want to keep a certain appearence aspect with, which will be a front clip change on a half ton ram. No, not a Dodge Ram, they made sure to kill that. A ram.

Probably a couple years out. But that's the future I predict from european owners that think all American vehicles are worse then garbage and hate our citizens.

You are totally depressing, man….every post you make is negative. You may be right on some counts but you are a serious downer to every thread I see you in.

Should I jump for joy at the death of the hemi? Do you think Fiat is going to do an about face and make a new V10 powered Viper? Are they even going to offer a stick shift in a car/truck going forward?
What should I be happy about in this situation? I will do as many others, and cling to the past as it is all that remains of MOPAR at this point. I hope that past can carry on for a long while. I hope people will keep it alive in spite of what the globalists want. I think they will, so long as they are able. I know I will.

But the past is the past, and this thread is not about how great the past was. it's about what is going on now. What is going on now, SUCKS. No copium will change that.

Remember when the Chrysler Group LLC cancelled the Viper in the summer of 2010? It was Fiat's Sergio Marchionne who brought the Viper back for 2012. But really, with only 32,000 customers over 26 years of production, what company would want to bring back such a low selling model again? They can make it as great as possible and beat the Corvette, but if it doesn't sell....

As for manual transmissions, very few cars have the optional slow pedal option these days, and when they do it's usually found that the automatic version is quicker, especially with higher powered engines. But don't forget, the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator still offers a six speed.
