Hot Wheels vs Matchbox

I've always been more of a Matchbox guy since the early 1970's.
Probably because they are more "real world" rather than wild customs.
Now that they are owned by the same parent (Mattel), it's nice to see they are keeping those lines drawn, although they didn't start that way right after the aquisition.

The "Toys That Built America" series neglected to include the minor players like Majorette, Tomy (Pocket Cars- which I loved), Budgie, and only breifly mentioned Dinky and Corgi (both large than 1:64). They didn't even mention Johnny Lightning, which I found very odd.
I would have liked to know more about those companies.
