What is the easiest way to determine a big block or small block K member while it is in the car? Car has no motor or trans in it. What features or measurements do you look for on the K member?

Depends on what year.

Yeah... and WHAT car!

I thought that was only an issue with a bodies. My first engine upgrade was 35 years ago when I took a poly 318 out and put in a 400 in a 66 4 door Coronet. Talk about a sleeper. All I remember changing was the trans. My cousin found a big block case at a trans shop and swapped over all the guts. Also had duel exhaust installed too.

66-72 if memory serves, is the same for sb/bb, /6 and Hemi are different.

My wife always tells me mine is a big block member...
