I'm pretty much gonna copy and paste a post I made in FABO so that I can get the opinion of some of y'all. I know this is a b-body but I love both of these forums and want to share with all you guys. I'll add some more detail since I just went through the vehicle with "CH1ll" today. Mark is an awesome guy and it was a pleasure to learn from him. Can't wait to travel back up to see him again and check out his projects. Here's the post and I'll add additional info under it.

"Looking for some confirmation bias on the purchase haha, just kidding, kinda. 71 Roadrunner originally a 340 auto now a roller with an 8 3/4 rear end. ch1ll was nice enough to give me the location of it and I had to pick it up. Interior is all apart but it's there and it's rough. Rally dash and white buckets...again...rough. Clean Wisconsin title. Paid $850. Needs a ton of work but it'll go nice next to the 73 RR 340 when it's all said and done. It's a good thing I have all you guys to help me get through these projects because as a 23 year old, I still have a lot to learn."

Now here's the additional info. As mark and I were going through the vehicle, we found a ton of original parts that seemed to be missing when looking at the vehicle from the outside. The plastic trim that goes around the headlights, the taillights, the gear shifter, the rally dash, front and rear white buckets, the center console, the hood springs, the hood inserts, lots of plastic trim, and maybe a couple others I'm forgetting. Mark was able to get the trunk open by going from behind the rear seat with a screwdriver and opening the latch (there was no key and the trunk was locked). Inside the trunk was a cast iron orange intake manifold with a nice thermoquad on it. After doing some research on the intake, it is from a 1971 340 car so I'm hoping that this is original to the car. There was a second thermoquad sitting next to the intake in worse condition and a bit less sought after. I'll get the numbers tomorrow if y'all are curious. The previous owner also put an aftermarket electric fuel pump setup in the trunk.

I have plans of fully restoring the vehicle which will definitely be a learning curve, but I'm up for the challenge. It'll take some time before I really get going on it though because I have others projects I have to finish. I was just looking for any advice and opinions from anyone and everyone. It needs body work, Mark was saying new frame rails and it will definitely need new floors. We matched the title/dash vin to the body vin and it all matched up. Curious if you guys know of any part outs in which I can get parts and body panels from. I would also love to try to track down the original engine and trans. I know it's a longshot but why not try. I am going to contact the previous owner tomorrow and see if I can get any info from him. Also, we could not find a fender tag or broadcast sheet. We checked under the rear seat for the broadcast sheet, I will check under the driver and passenger seat too. I would like to create a post in the "Lost and Found" section to see if maybe anyone recognizes the vehicle and has a lead on the engine/trans. I was just wondering what info I should provide. I won't write anymore cuz this is getting long but I'll continue to reply to you guys with things I forgot to include and responses to replies. Thanks everyone! Here are some pics.

Looks like "rat rod" material. A huge investment of cash and time to restore. My 2 cents.

71 being the change over year its a little harder to find parts for that car in my opinion.

Looks like a fun project. The grill should be no problem they are reproduced and you can always paint a satellite grill black. AMD makes quarters and the rest looks repairable. No one makes anything beyond patch panels for the front fenders. It will be a lot of work but worthy of your time.
The 71 TQ is a pretty rare one year carb if it has it. The idle mixture adjustment screws are at angle.
The k member is the same for bb or sb..Put whatever you want in it, if the 340 is gone. Check out the frame rails for rust.
GREAT price!

Rough 340/Auto car with no fender tag..... I'd say you have a clean slate to build it to whatever fits your dreams.

Great score. For $850, I'll take a dozen of them please.

Yes: Great deal on a real Road Runner and enough of it is gone that you can just do what you wish to it and make it what you want. I love 71-72 B-Bodies. You're probably $3500 ahead of the game which will of course get eaten up in a hurry but you'll have a fun build there.

I would grab a 360 Magnum from a 90's truck(pull-a-part?), add an intake, oil pan and an ebay radiator, prolly has cracked heads but it will get you moving on the cheep. Adding aluminum head and a hughes cam later will make good power later.

Clean title: Great
Roadrunner: Great
340 car: Great
Red color: Great
$850 price: Great

Thanks everyone for the awesome comments. Like I said it'll be some time before I get working on it but when the time comes, I'll make sure to document the process and keep you guys updated. I will definitely have lots of questions.
