Dear All, Sorry if this has already been covered, I have just joined. I am hoping to purchase a 68 R/T Charger and I was hoping someone could inform me on how to tell if it's a real R/T. Thanks, Steve.

I would guess that you're talking about a 440 Dodge Charger R/T

Need to look real hard these days as there are plenty of scammers out there. The VIN is attached to the dash with rosette rivets but the entire dash can be unbolted. Stick your head under the dash and look for any tampering with the dash mounting points, braces, wiring, etc.. Car should have a fender tag and the SO number is stamped on the rad support as well. A true R/T VIN should begin as XS29 (L or J).
