How do you remove the chrome trim on 70 Satellite rear trim panel?

First, I want to thank Brett (QuickBpBp) for the trim panels. Just what I was looking for.
Now, does anyone know how the chrome trim pieces come off? I want to replace the vinyl with white. I don't want to bend or ding the chrome trying to get it off. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

How did you make out.

I THINK there are little spikes that hold into the board behind it. Dont quote me on this one, as it may be different than others I have seen.
