Mine gets real hot even though water temp are in the 180-195 range.

I would guess that a stroker motor with aluminum heads and intake etc would be hotter since the aluminum is disapating the heat in to the bay.

exhaust system. Hot jet coat your headers and that will help.

Going to get some header wrap today but since my set up is shoe horned in I will only be able to get partial coverage but I guess better than nothing.

I know mine seems to throw off a lot of heat even though I have never seen my temps go above 190 or so. When I pull into the garage it throws off a ton of heat. I do have big aluminum Indy heads and intake and also large diameter uncoated headers and I also run my cooling fan and water pump for awhile after it shuts down. I have always been amazed at just how fast the headers cool off on this thing!

We have similar set ups and it sounds like the same situation. I am going to try some header wrap at least were I can. With out taking the motor out I can only get to probably 60% of the headers but some is better than none? I have a non electric water pump and a pusher fan for traffic driving but until I get my new alt that stays off when the car gets in the garage to save power. My headers cool off pretty quick too. wonder how much of the heat is actually from the aluminum?

The ice companies originally came into existence to make ice for intake manifolds on Mopars to cool them down at the drag races..They have always been the hottest(literally&figuratively).. I offer no other explanation, but you could go to a 160deg. thermostat.
