Hey everybody. Taking care of some more little stuff on the GTX today, trying to get ready to drive it in the Spring. And I was thinking to myself, how many cars has it taken to get to where I am on my car. I made a brief list, mostly just the major stuff, and was alarmed that I have parts from no less than 14 other cars. Of course there's guys out there that have all (or nearly) original cars, survivors and what have you. But there's a lot of totally restored cars out there too, pieced together from numerous other cars to make one nice one.

Just thought it was an interesting topic for discussion. How many Mopars have likely paid the ultimate price for your car?

Only 14 ? I don't think I can count high enough to total up the number of different cars that make up just one of my rides.

You can never say we don't do our part for recycling though :)

I see a very capable driver standing there waiting to drive the car saying "HURRY UP DAD" this sh... is getting old real fast.

Yea he helps out when he can. Usually by honking the horn and putting wrenches against parts that dont need wrenching. He did enjoy rolling that FatMat on.

5wndwcpe, I don't know if you were being ironic or not, but truer words have never been spoken.

*Right in here there was a long, heartfelt rant about Enviro-Crazies, crackpot scientists, a particularly obnoxious ex-vice president, hybrids, disposable fwd econo-poopsters, emissions control, DEQ, EPA, eco-terrorists, money-grubbing university "science" departments, green initiatives, sustainability initiatives, car-hating politicians, and I think I mentioned street mimes at one point, too.*

I deleted it tho. Wrong place for that. Plus, it was boring (altho richly eloquent), we ALL already know....

BTW, my B-body was bought as a sacrificial lamb (engine/trans donor) for my RamCharger. R/C got sold to a guy with a spare engine/trans, and my "donor" is my daily driver. BOTH are still on the road 6+ yrs later. No Mopars were destroyed in the making of this post.

Two so far. The trunk hinges on my Coronet are not original to the car and the Dana is out of a Ford pickup. The rest is new or waiting to be replaced.

Us 66-67 car guys have a disadvantage in this that theres hardly any repop body parts. Same with early B cars. 68 and later cars you could pretty much rebody nowadays. So we usually end up tearing apart a donor.

I'm up to three for my 71-74 Charger project...and still not sure it's worth it.

Four if you count the car the bulge hood came off of.

Oops, five if you count the rallye light donor car.

Ah, six if you count the Chrysler 400 car.

Shucks- seven if you count my rallye Challenger that I kept the slapstick setup from...
